How Career Management Coaching Can Help You

ROLE PERFORMANCE AND PRODUCTIVITY: Acclimate effectively to a new job or refresh your approach to one you’ve been in for a while. Work on issues of organization, time management, and prioritizing. Analyze your strengths and areas for development and make a plan to further strengthen both. Prepare for performance reviews.

COMMUNICATION: Learn effective communication approaches with all those you work with, especially your manager. Improve your business writing skills. Get support and a roadmap for difficult conversations, including how to give and receive feedback.

PEOPLE: Enhance your relationship-building abilities, learn to better manage existing relationships and to manage conflict.

MANAGEMENT/LEADERSHIP: Determine if increasing management and leadership responsibilities is your goal or if you prefer to grow in other ways. Identify your management and leadership style and learn how to enhance your own natural talents in those areas.

PRESENCE: Get taken more seriously or seen as someone capable of stepping into the roles you want to grow into. Understand your personal brand and how to express it consistently. Learn how to be heard in meetings or in general. Enhance your visibility in your organization and on social media.

CAREER GOALS: Figure out where you want to go next in your career and develop an action plan for getting there. Build a strong internal network. Explore and evaluate internal opportunities at your organization or determine when and how to leave your organization if your goals can’t be met where you are.

How it’s structured

Career management coaching engages you proactively in your own career navigation. Dr. Tullier’s role is to:

  • ask probing questions

  • challenge your usual thinking to bring about valuable insights

  • offer support for the emotional side of career management and workplace navigation

  • help you identify roadblocks

  • partner with you in a vision for your future or for the change you wish to see in yourself

  • let you take the lead in your career management with her as a guide

Dr. Tullier uses various coaching models to fit the unique needs of each client, but her most fundamental go-to model that underlies the more customized approaches is that of the Association for Talent Development (ATD):
